Questions & answers

Everything you need to know about importing MIDI, the reading modes, keyboards and Pro.

Getting started

What does MidiScore do?
It turns a MIDI (.mid) file into real sheet music and helps you play it — as a score, as falling notes, or in a practice mode that waits for you to play the right notes.
Which devices are supported?
MidiScore runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later.
Do I need a MIDI keyboard?
No. You can import, read and listen to any MIDI file without a keyboard. A keyboard is only needed for the “at your pace” practice mode.

Importing

How do I import a file?
Open any .mid file from the Files app, an email or another app and choose MidiScore. It is parsed and laid out as a score instantly, offline.
How many files can I import for free?
Up to 3 imported scores on the free plan. The built-in example doesn't count. Pro removes the limit.

Keyboards & practice

How do I connect a keyboard?
Connect it over USB-C, or pair a Bluetooth MIDI keyboard from the app. MidiScore then follows the notes you play.
What is “at your pace” mode?
The score pauses on each note (or chord) until you play it correctly on your keyboard, so you can learn a piece hands-free of any time pressure.

Pro & billing

What does Pro unlock?
Unlimited imported scores, the keyboard practice mode, transposition and print-ready PDF export.
How much is Pro?
1,99 € per month or 9,99 € per year, with a one-month free trial for new subscribers. Prices may vary by region.
How do I cancel?
Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings — there's no account to delete on our side.

Privacy

Do you collect my data?
No. MidiScore has no account and no server: your MIDI files and PDFs stay on your device. The website uses Google Analytics only if you accept the cookie banner.
